Following extensive community engagement in 2019, Council developed a concept design for a new district community centre and library in Warrawong. We asked the community how we could make the facility a welcoming and accessible place for all and what people wanted to be able to do there.
Many of you provided valuable feedback which helped shape the vision and design for the building which now includes an outdoor community space - the town square.
The site for the new community centre and library is on the corner of King and Greene streets in Warrawong.
Council submitted a Development Application for the new building, town square, and adjacent carparking to the Southern Regional Planning Panel. The Development Application was approved in October 2022, and Council is currently finalising construction documentation for tender.

Register for placemaking for the town square
If you'd like to be contacted about placemaking activities for the community, please leave your name and email here.
As we go about the more detailed design of the town square we may ask for your ideas on it's spatial layout, about greening with trees and plants, signage, public and community art and how it can function to support community events.
Community engagement activities that we plan will be offered to people who register and you can opt in or out at any time.
